The "Advanced Fire Fighting" course covers all the necessary aspects of training sailors for effective fire management on ships, in accordance with IMO international standards. The training is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the STCW Code, Section VI/3 and the STCW Code, Table A-VI/3, covering both theoretical and practical training. The course topics include managing fire fighting operations on ships, communication and coordination during fire fighting, preparing emergency plans, using fire detection systems, stationary fire extinguishing systems, portable and mobile fire extinguishing equipment, as well as caring for injured persons and providing them with assistance. The course also includes investigating and reporting fire-related incidents and assessing the causes of such incidents.
— Management of fire fighting operations on ships;
— communication and coordination during fire fighting;
— preparation of emergency plans;
— use of fire detection systems (stationary fire extinguishing systems, portable and mobile fire extinguishing equipment, including devices, pumps, and equipment for rescuing people and property, life support systems, personal protective equipment, and communication equipment);
— statutory and classification inspections;
— organization and preparation of fire fighting teams on ships;
— care for injured persons and providing them with assistance;
— investigation and reporting of fire-related incidents;
— assessment of the causes of fire-related incidents.
The course instructors have maritime education and more than three years of experience working on ships. They also have qualifications and experience in accordance with the provisions of Section 1/6 of the STCW Code with amendments, more than one year of experience working in training centers for command staff, and a certificate of completion of the "Advanced Fire Fighting" course.
The "Advanced Fire Fighting" course covers the theoretical and practical training required to comply with IMO international standards, ensuring high qualification of sailors in fire safety.
The course is fully equipped: a classroom with the possibility for note-taking, course-specific educational materials, and demonstration materials (stands, posters, slides, and photographs). The training ship "AVANT" and fire simulator are also included in the course's material and technical support.
