The course "English for work on liners" is designed specifically for cooks, waiters and stewards who aspire to work on the international cruise fleet. Within three months you will master professional English in a convenient online format on an interactive platform: 33 lessons of self-study, 3–4 classes per week and two hours of group practice with a teacher in a small group (6–8 people). You independently form your schedule, receive homework from real situations on board the liner, and the tutor provides regular feedback and support. The course is approved by the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa Regional State Administration and meets the needs of the international maritime service.
You will master key vocabulary and communication skills for your profession: ordering and serving meals in English, discussing menus, briefing passengers, serving on-board events and celebrations. After each of the 33 lessons, you will be given an oral task that simulates real work situations on the liner, and 19 hours of practice with a teacher will help you consolidate the material and practice the necessary phrases. Additionally, you will take 10 module tests to monitor your progress, participate in a general chat for networking, and prepare for a mock interview with a crew representative.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Cruise Line English Course Certificate, which confirms your level of professional English and your readiness for employment on board the ship. This document will be a significant advantage when interviewing with crewing companies and will allow you to compete in the international job market.
