The course is intended for all seafarers, regardless of their position or experience, who need to undergo initial safety training before starting work on a ship.

The course "Safety familiarization, basic training and instruction for all seafarers" is designed to provide participants with basic knowledge and skills in ship safety, in accordance with international standards IMO VI/1 and A-VI/1. It covers aspects such as personal survival, fire safety, medical aid, and adaptation to the ship environment.

On the course you will learn to

  • Provision of elementary medical aid.

  • Handling unforeseen circumstances.

Issuing certificates

Qualified specialist certificate.

Level of instructor-teachers

Training is conducted by qualified specialists with maritime education and experience of more than three years working on ships, as well as experience in training centers for crew preparation.

Compliance with international conventions

  • VI/1 STCW
    Section VI (Emergency Measures and Rescue) of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). Initial safety training for all seafarers before starting work on a ship. Includes familiarization with the ship, use of life-saving equipment, and basic safety procedures.
  • A-VI/1 STCW
    Section A (Mandatory) of the STCW Code. Mandatory requirements for conducting basic safety training for seafarers, including theoretical and practical training in safety, fire safety, first aid, and marine environment protection.
  • Paragraphs 1 and 2 STCW
    Paragraph 1 describes mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers, including theoretical and practical aspects of training.
    Paragraph 2 clarifies that this training must be certified and conducted before the first departure to sea or during service on the ship.
