“Ship Safety Management System (ISM Code)” is a specialized course designed to develop knowledge and practical understanding of the principles governing the operation of a shipboard safety management system and its application in shipboard and shore-based activities.
During the training, participants study the main principles and objectives of the ISM Code, the structure of the Safety Management System (SMS), the allocation of responsibilities and authority, the organization of safe ship operation and pollution prevention. Particular attention is given to hazard identification, risk assessment, the establishment of preventive measures, documentation of procedures and control of their implementation.
The training also covers procedures for reporting, investigating and analysing non-conformities, accidents and hazardous situations, as well as the application of corrective measures.
