About the Course
Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) provides the practical knowledge and skills required to respond safely to a helicopter ditching at sea and to escape from a submerged helicopter. The course is intended for personnel travelling by helicopter to offshore installations and other marine facilities.
Participants learn emergency procedures before and during ditching, the use of personal survival equipment, underwater orientation techniques, emergency exit procedures and safe evacuation from a submerged helicopter in conditions of reduced visibility and confined space.
Practical exercises include escape training in a dedicated underwater simulator, operation of emergency exits, controlled breathing techniques, correct use of survival equipment and post-escape actions after reaching the water surface.
