Navi-Radar 4000 radar/ARP simulator is designed for training of ship navigators in accordance with the requirements of the International Convention for the Navigation of Navigation, as amended.
Navigational simulators allow to teach skills of operation with modern radar/SARP. Both computer simulators and indicators of real radars can be used. Using its own map database, TRANSAS can create radar scenes of any area of the World Ocean. The simulators use an accurate mathematical model of radar signal propagation, which increases the realism of perception and training efficiency.
The training is in accordance with international standards, in particular the IORP, as amended, and includes training in the following areas:
– Radar Surveillance;
– Maintaining a radar sweep;
– Collision avoidance based on IMO rules and using warning signaling;
– Situational Orientation, including determining target distances, bearing, courses and speeds;
– Performing target calculations such as CPA (closest approach distance), TPA (time to closest approach distance), course and speed changes;
– Setting up and maintaining radar/SARP displays.
• Pre-calculated motion vectors: The Navi-Radar 4000 cartographic locator by TRANSAS is capable of selecting potential targets and instantly providing data on the object and its trajectory even before the operator locks onto the target.
• Target identification: Built-in filters can identify targets using AIS and SARPS systems in order to provide the operator with requested data in real time.
• Filtering of lost targets: In areas with heavy maritime traffic, the key factor in avoiding collisions is maintaining focus. Operator-defined target filters issue alerts only when necessary.
• Maneuver simulation and indirect course line: Target course and maneuver simulations help the officer make the correct decision.
• Radar charts: Efficient loading and display of multiple electronic charts in ENC/SENC and TX-97 formats, with the ability to overlay user-generated charts on multiple layers. The built-in ECDIS core by TRANSAS allows easy and fast selection of chart element styles – in color, grayscale, or outline.
TRANSAS navigation simulators are developed in full compliance with the following standards and regulations:
• The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), including amendments;
• IMO Model Courses;
• The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS);
• Specialized training requirements, such as training for fishing operations, Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) operators, etc.;
• DNV Classification Society Standard (Certification Standard for Maritime Simulators Class A No. 2.14 with class designation: “Integrated Simulator System, NAUT AW (SIM), DYNPOS – AUT (SIM), HSC, TUG, ICE, AHTS”), as well as a Certificate of Compliance for Class A Dynamic Positioning System Simulator.
